Itinerary:

Day 1, Sat    USA - Beijing
Board our international flight bound for Beijing.  Spend the night aboard.

Day 2, Sun    Arrive Beijing
Our flight arrives Beijing in the evening.  after the long flight relax in five star luxury as we check in to the Sheraton Hotel.

Day 3, Mon    Beijing
Spend the day touring the political center of China.  The famous landmark Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in the world.  Other sites we visit today include the Forbidden City and the Emperor's Summer Palace.  In the evening a special Peking Duck Banquet is provided for our enjoyment.  (AB, L, DP)

Day 4, Tue    Beijing
The Great Wall of China is one of the seven great man-made wonders of the world.  Spend time walking atop the wall, noting that it spans thousands of miles across Northern China.  In the afternoon we descend to visit the Ming Tomb Museums, burial place of 13 Ming Emperors.  Tonight after a famous Emperor's Banquet we are treated to a Chinese Opera.  (AB, L, DS)

Day 5, Wed    Beijing - Hangzhou
After visiting the Temple of Heaven, we depart Beijing via air for Hangzhou.  Upon arrival we tour Liu He Pagoda, then check in to our hotel to freshen up and enjoy our dinner.  (AB, L, DH)

Day 6, Thu    Hangzhou
Hangzhou is well known for its beautiful scenery.  Full day of sightseeing features a cruise on the magnificent West lake as well as visits to Ling Yin Temple, Fei Lai Feng.  Tonight we attend a specially prepared local cuisine banquet.   (AB, L, DP)  

Day 7, Fri    Hangzhou - Suzhou
This morning we board a motorcoach bound for Suzhou, better known internationally as the "Venice of the East".  Our tour of Suzhou includes the exquisite Humble Administrator's Garden, Tiger Hill, and the Grand Canal.  In the evening we relax and enjoy our dinner at the five star hotel.  (AB, L, DH)

Day 8, Sat    Suzhou - Shanghai
After breakfast, we board a motorcoach bound for Shanghai, the largest city and the bustling commercial center of China.  Upon arrival at Shanghai, our city tour includes a walk along the famous Bund reveals the past international influences on this great city.  Our tour also visits the Yu Garden and Nanjing Road.  We are treated to the Chinese Acrobatics Show for our enjoyment in the evening.   (AB, L, DS)  

Day 9, Sun    Shanghai - Wuhan - Yangtze River Cruise
We are transferred to the airport to board a flight bound for Wuhan, an important city in Central China.  After a brief city tour visiting Yellow Crane Tower, we transfer to the docks to board our Victoria Cruise Ship in preparation for an evening departure.  (AB, L, D)

Day 10, Mon    Yangtze River Cruise (Yueyang)
On board, we have all the amenities of a fine hotel.  Spend time relaxing on deck, taking in the sights and sounds of the mighty Yangtze.  Our first shore excursion at Yueyang, a 2500-year-old city famous for its tortoise-snake wine, paper folding fans, artistic porcelain wares silver needle tea.  (AB, L, D)

Day 11, Tue    Yangtze River Cruise (Three Gorges Dam - Wushan)
The shore excursion today takes us to the famed Three Gorges Dam, being built to control the floodwaters of the Yangtze.  Re-board in the afternoon and sail through two of the Three Gorges: Xiling Gorge and Wu Gorge.  We arrive at Wushan later in the evening.   (AB, L, D)

Day 12, Wed    
Yangtze River Cruise (Three Lesser Gorges)

Disembark at Wushan to board small-motorized sampans to access the Three Lesser Gorges.  Sail up the Daning River, stopping at Double Dragon Village for a quick lunch.  Re-board in the afternoon and sail through the smallest of the Three Gorges, Qutang Gorge.  (AB, L, D)

Day 13, Thu    Yangtze River Cruise (Fengdu or Wanxian)
Depending on the conditions of the Yangtze River, our shore excursion today takes us to visit either Fengdu or Wanxian.  According to ancient legend, Fengdu is the "City of Ghosts" and the entrance to Hell.  We access this city via a short cable car ride up the mountain.  Wanxian is a town famous for its silk, leather, batten, bamboo and wood products.  It is also known as the "City of the King".  (AB, L, D)

Day 14, Fri    Yangtze River Cruise - Chongqing - Xian
Our cruise ends today in Chongqing.  After a lunch of local Szechwan Cuisine, we board a short flight to Xian and take a brief city tour visiting the ancient City Wall.  In the evening we are served an Imperial Dumpling Banquet.  (AB, L, DP)

Day 15, Sat    Xian
Xian is the starting point of the famed Silk Road.  The highlight of today's tour is Qin Shi Huang's army of Terra Cotta Warriors.  The opening of a third excavation pit allows us access to even more of these fierce warriors built to protect China's first emperor even in death.  Upon returning to the city we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.  In the evening we enjoy the Palace Banquet while watching a Stage Show of Tang Dynasty.  (AB, L, DS)

Day 16, Sun    Xian - Guilin
We depart Xian in the morning by air to arrive at Guilin.  A half-day tour takes us to visit Elephant Trunk Hill and the Reed Flute Cave, marveling at the fantastic formations of stalactite and stalagmite artfully illuminated by multicolored lights.  (AB, L, DH)

Day 17, Mon    Guilin
Today we enjoy a spectacular cruise down the Li River that reveals the beauty of China's heartland.  The cruise meanders through lush green valleys, misty bamboo groves and otherworldly rock formations.  In the evening dinner we enjoy a Minority Folklore Dance and Dinner Show.  (AB, L, DS)

Day 18, Tue    Guilin - Guangzhou - Hong Kong
Fly from Guilin to Guangzhou in the morning.  Upon arrival at Guangzhou, we enjoy a lunch of local Cantonese cuisine.  A brief city tour of Guangzhou takes us to the Chen Family Temple and Yue Xiu Park.  In the afternoon we board an express train bound for the "Pearl of the Orient", Hong Kong.  (AB, L)

Day 19, Wed    Hong Kong
A half day tour will take us around Hong Kong Island.  Enjoy a ride up to Victoria Peak where we are presented with a panoramic view of Hong Kong Island and its harbor.  The afternoon is free for shopping and other leisure activities.  (AB)

Day 20, Thu    Hong Kong
Explore Hong Kong at our own pace because the day is free for leisure activities.  Continue with shopping from yesterday, visit friends, or perhaps take an optional tour.  (AB)

Day 21, Fri    Hong Kong - USA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your homeward bound flight.  Re-cross the International Date Line and arrive USA on the same date.  (AB)
